A Zellish Captain, and part of Rade Sark's Black Fleet, Drosaico Janovic may be Sark's most fanatical supporter. He is the Captain of the Jagost, a Zellislava with an unusually shallow beam that allows it to sail up rivers where other ships would founder.
Drosaico seems to be a homosexual who is in love with Sark, but his own reserved nature and the suppressing effects of the Zellish Dream make him unable to express his feelings, and he compensates for this with slavish devotion to Sark's goals. He has a particular hatred for Sark's concubine, Ranveig, probably because he is jealous of the attention Sark pays to her. He thinks of Ranveig as a manipulative witch who has tricked his noble master into wasting all of his money on frivolous niceties for her.
Drosaico is an excellent swordsman, and a champion boxer. He fights with a Schiavona, and when boxing he is capable of a Flicker Jab that gives him an advantage. During a mission in Medhakistan, he fought off three men at once, and despite suffering broken ribs and internal bleeding, he later beat an undead "swamp siren" to death with his bare hands.

-Drosaico is a consistently, almost implausibly excellent character, being handsome, loyal, possessed of great leadership abilities and martial skill, and genuinely caring for his men. Yet, perhaps ironically, he has devoted himself to Rade Sark, an evil power-hungry tyrant who seems to be less admirable than Drosaico in all respects.
